Happy Halloween!

Autumn brings many good things… pumpkin patches, hayrides, football season, pumpkin spice lattes, apple cider, family gatherings, haunted houses, pumpkin pie… and trick-or-treaters! Tonight was our first experience with the little trick or treaters in our neighborhood.  So much fun! To prepare for the little witches and goblins we visited a local pumpkin patch to pick out our annual pumpkins for the season.  My husband hopped on the tractor at the local pumpkin patch to haul our pumpkins back to the house…

A singing pumpkin band greeted our trick or treaters as they came to our door

We were also “BOO-ed” this weekend.
Every halloween our neighborhood plays a game called “You’ve been BOO-ed”.
Being new to the neighborhood, this was our first Boo experience!
This is a fun surprise gift that is left on someone’s door without them knowing who left it!
The Boo-er prints out the poem (found at www.beenbooed.com), gathers a few treats, and put them in a little treat bag to secretly leave at someone’s front door. In turn, the neighbor is asked to BOO two others, leading to a chain reaction and Halloween fun. It is a cute little game that involves the whole neighborhood. What a fun idea!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year! We are looking forward to our next trick-or-treat night! But next year I think 40 Little Hug drinks will be enough for our ghouly guests. 80 colorful juice grenades was a little too many.
