Sweet Bird’s Nests

I get really excited when I stumble upon something that is just soo impressive.
When I stumbled upon this awesome post by Bake at 350 I immediately wanted to share.   ENJOY! 🙂

*Sweet* Bird’s Nests

3 c. mini marshmallows
3 TBSP unsalted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
4 c. dry chow mein noodles
small candies, jelly beans, m & m’s, etc.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
Over low heat, melt the marshmallows and butter in a large saucepan.
Once melted, stir in the vanilla, then the chow mein noodles.
Coat your hands liberally with shortening, (butter doesn’t work as well) & have some nearby for re-coating.

Grab a clump of noodles smaller than a tennis ball and larger than a golf ball.
Form into a ball while pressed your thumbs into the middle, forming a nest.
Allow the nests to cool, then fill with with the candy of your choice….
{I used mini Robin’s Egg Whoppers.}

{And maybe a mama bird, or Peep, watching over!}

Remember to link up your Easter goodies and crafts here. Or, just go check them out…I am blown-away with all of the CUTE ideas!!! You guys are so fun! I’m stealing ALL of your ideas next year! Related Posts:

Easily Distracted

Less than 24 hours and my second semester as a graduate student will be completed! That being said, I am having some major motivation issues! (plus I am very easily distracted) After watching multiple youtube videos, cleaning the kitchen, and googling different home decorating ideas, I realized that my blog could use a lilttle sprucing up too.  Please don’t mind the “construction” as I redecorate my blog (as well as our home).  Now back to studying…. perhaps.  🙂

Everything in its place

I love being organized, but lately I have been far from it!
Although we moved into our home a little over a year ago, we still aren’t as organized as I hoped we would be! Maybe it was the months of wedding preparation on the dining room table or the renovating that kept us from moving on and storing items as though they really belonged where we placed them.  Since the day we packed up our apartment, nothing has truly been “in its place” in our new home.  Now renovating is at full force and our house is becoming more livable every day.  This means it is time to get reorganized.  Everything in its place where hopefully it will stay.

Check out Martha Stewart’s Organizing Tip of the Day  (I know I’m going to!)
